Project Details

L&Q Housing Group awarded Axis a six-year cyclical decorations contract which covered the redecoration and repairs of external and communal areas at their properties. Our team originally secured 9,500 properties in the social landlord’s South West region, through competitive tender. We were later invited to work on the South East hub as well, which covered a further 13,000 buildings.

The properties vary from high rise multi-occupancy blocks of flats to bungalows or terraced housing, and whilst the majority are social housing properties, the contract also covers student accommodation, hostels, supported housing projects and sheltered housing schemes within L&Q’s portfolio.

L&Q were seeking a service provider able to deliver a high-quality service for the cyclical decorations works. Our team are used to supplying an exceptional standard of work, also offering value for money to residents. We also secured continuous improvements across all of the services and works. The contract carries the option to extend for a further six years based on performance – on an annually renewable basis.

Under the remit of the contract, our team had a wide scope of redecorations and repairs. We covered external decorations such as previously painted metal, woodwork, brickwork. We also took on all render, stucco, windows and doors. Our team repaired rainwater pipes, railings, grilles, doors, porches and storage structures as well. Within the communal area works, we improved staircases, entrance lobbies, hallways and common parts of the blocks.

The South East and Thames region covers 13,000 properties across south-east London and Kent. The South and South West region covers 9,500 properties in south London, Kent and parts of Sussex.
