Life as an Axis CLC Apprentice

What a typical week looks like as an apprentice

A typical week as an apprentice at Axis CLC is a balance between hands-on work and structured learning. Most of the time is spent in the workplace, working as part of a team, learning on the job, and contributing to real projects.

Alongside this, apprentices complete structured training through a college or training provider. This may include set learning days, online study or block release, depending on the role and programme. Throughout the week, apprentices are supported by managers and experienced colleagues who help guide learning, answer questions and ensure development stays on track.

The best thing being an apprentice is that I learn loads, gets loads of opportunities to progress and have a lot of people that have my back and want to see me do well and progress.

Electrical Apprentice

I would describe my experience at the company as very positive and rewarding. Since starting, I have been given the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and gain valuable hands-on experience within the quantity surveying role.

Apprentice Quantity Surveyor

The support from Axis CLC was a huge part of my success. Having experienced engineers around to guide me made a massive difference, especially during the tougher parts of the course. They were always willing to share their knowledge and make sure I understood not just what to do, but why it’s done that way.

Gas Apprentice

I would recommend an apprenticeship. It has been a good experience, it’s easier to learn and more hands-on. There is always a good atmosphere.

Carpentry Apprentice

Working at the company really helped me learn how to push myself and to realise that when an opportunity is there, I should take it. My mentors have pushed me to my full potential, teaching me things and encouraged me to as ‘why’ at every step, which helped me move from simply completing tasks to fully understanding.

Admin Apprentice

Starting as an apprentice, I have been given the opportunity to go on various courses, which has helped with my progression to my current role. My branch manager has been extremely supportive too
