The project combined roof replacement, internal refurbishment and M&E upgrades within a single coordinated programme. Careful planning enabled drainage works, ventilation improvements, electrical upgrades and a new kitchen installation to be delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
During the programme, the original MVHR system location was found to be unsuitable, requiring a redesign and revised approval process. Close collaboration between Axis, Westminster City Council and project stakeholders enabled an effective solution to be implemented with minimal impact on delivery.
The completed works enhanced the condition, functionality and long-term value of an important community facility for local residents and community groups.
Innovations, challenges, solutions
Collaborative problem-solving and careful planning enabled a complex refurbishment and M&E programme to be delivered successfully for Westminster City Council.
