Axis wins Housing Disrepair and Damp and Mould Works contract with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council

Axis has secured a new Housing Disrepair and Damp and Mould Works contract with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, valued at approximately £3 million per annum. Delivered through the Communities & Housing Investment Consortium (CHIC), the two-year contract will support the council in maintaining safe, healthy and habitable homes across its housing portfolio.

Axis will deliver specialist damp and mould remediation alongside disrepair, water ingress, ventilation, roofing, plumbing and building fabric works. The appointment demonstrates our experience delivering resident-focused housing services at scale, supported by national operational capability and specialist technical expertise.

With the new requirements of Awaab’s Law increasing the focus on timely investigation, remediation and communication around hazards in social housing, landlords need experienced partners able to deliver effective solutions across occupied homes. Axis combines specialist surveying, technical expertise and national operational capability to help housing providers improve living conditions, reduce recurrence and maintain safe, healthy homes.

Scope of Works

Under this contract, Axis will deliver a comprehensive programme of Housing Disrepair and Damp and Mould works, including:

  • Damp and mould remediation
  • Root-cause identification
  • Building fabric repairs
  • Ventilation improvements
  • Water ingress investigations and repairs
  • Roofing repairs
  • Plumbing defect repairs
  • Property condition investigations
